Zimbabwe has a well developed and diversified commercial sector embracing modern retail and wholesale outlets paralleled by a banking and financial services sector that delivers to international standards.    

Modern shopping malls are sprouting   in major centres around the country. Market leaders in the wholesale and retail business offer point-of-sale access to banking and are also venturing into e-commerce.

A large fleet of heavy vehicles transverse the country’s roads as they transport goods for both local and international trade.  Omnibuses and mini-buses provide intra-city and inter-city commuter transport as well as servicing the country’s rural areas.  Air Zimbabwe, the national carrier, is the main air travel and cargo freight service provider for local, regional and international destinations from Zimbabwe. Other airlines fly into the country.  

Zimbabwe has a well developed banking and financial infrastructure, consisting of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Standard Chartered, Barclays, Commercial bank of Zimbabwe, Stanbic, First Banking Corporation, Kingdom Bank, CFX, ZB, ZABG, Zimbabwe Banking Corporation, NMB Bank Limited,  MBCA Bank Limited,  Metropolitan commercial banks, venture capital companies, development banks, Finhold merchant bank, ABC Limited, Genesis Investment Bank Limited, Interfin Merchant Bank, Renaissance Merchant Bank, Premier Banking Corporation, TN Bank Ltd and Discount Company of Zimbabwe Limited, National Discount House Limited, Tetrad Securities Limited,  Highveld Financial Services, discount houses providing a variety of financial services such as medium-term loan finance, foreign market transactions, equity issues, stock exchange transactions, portfolio management, company broking, corporate restructuring, etc.  The state-owned Agribank specialises in providing agricultural loan financing while the Zimbabwe Infrastructure Development Bank provides funding for infrastructure development projects. Commercial Banks issue credit cards in line with international banking practice and several Asset Management companies are operational in the country. Standard Chartered, Barclays and Stanbic are some of the renowned international entities n the market.
