Sandra Ndebele heads for Harare

"NO matter what people say about you, if you believe in something and yourself, you can go for it and fulfil your dreams."

This was said by popular Bulawayo-based singer and sultry dancer Sandra Ndebele recently. She said no amount of talk would deter her from pursuing her aspirations. She was explaining why she decided to call her soon-to-be released album, "No Matter What".

Sandy - as she is affectionately called in music circles - had taken a break from showbiz last year to concentrate on nursing her second child Joel, but says she has returned to showbiz.

"I have been a victim of negative publicity but that didn't stop me from being a mother and also pursuing my career. "I am still the Sandy that you all know and no one and nothing can take that away from me.

"This is the reason why I have decided to call my new album due for release end of February, ‘No Matter What' because it talks about the trying times I went through. My fans can relate to some of the issues on the 10-track album," she said.

Sandy promised to sample songs taken off the album at her maiden show at the City Sports Bar.

"It has been long since I last performed in Harare. I only performed at galas and private functions but this is my first public show in Harare.

"I am really looking forward to performing at City Sports Bar and will definitely play new songs off my album and also showcase some of my dances," Sandy said.

She added: "I was busy as a mother caring for my second baby but now I am back full time."Sandy's performance at City Sports Bar marks a series of acts by artistes from Matebeleland at the joint.

"Sandra Ndebele is one of the country's best performers and we felt it imperative to have here as we focus on artistes from the province this year," Biggie Chinoperekwei of City Sports Bar said.

The diva is also expected to be part of the line-up of musicians who will take part in the Chipaz Promotions Charity Match to be held at Rufaro Stadium at the weekend.

Sandy tied the knot with her long-time lover Nkanyiso Sibindi early last year. She first burst on the music scene with her hit song "Mama" in 2003.She is also renowned for her raunchy dances.
