THE Zimbabwe Women Soccer League will hold an emergency board meeting this afternoon in which they are supposed to formalise the suspension of secretary-general Samukeliso Silengane. Silengane was suspended from the Referees Committee pending investigations into the referees' scam that rocked the Zifa Central Region.
The board is expected to discuss the co-option of another board member to fill the vacuum left following the suspension of Silengane.
ZWSL chairperson Mavis Gumbo, her deputy Cecilia Mudzana, board member development Ben Mamoche, board member finance Rosemary Kanonge and board member competitions, Felistas Tongogara, form the women's board.
Silengane, together with Bulawayo referee Cosmas Nyoni, were the first casualties of the Centralgate which has since claimed the scalp of Zifa board members Gift Banda and Patrick Hokonya.
The board members will also review the Mighty Warriors' performance last year's performance of the national team - in the Cosafa Women Championships, All-Africa Games as well as the Germany training camp.
Also on the agenda is the national league with the board members expected to discuss this year's top-flight league following the pilot competition which was won by Black Rhinos.
The inaugural national league struggled to stay afloat without sponsorship and it remains to be seen whether the league will continue this year.
The indaba will also see the board members discussing the Caf Women Championships.The Zimbabwe senior women's team will on Sunday host Botswana in the second leg of the Caf Women Championships, seeking to book a ticket to the next round where powerhouse Nigeria are waiting.
Zimbabwe were initially expected to host the Caf Women Championships.Equatorial Guinea, who are co hosting the men's Africa Cup of Nations with Gabon, will host the women's edition of the tournament in November.
The Mighty Warriors last participated at the African Women Championships in 2006 and coach Rose Mugadza says he wants her troops to feature in Malabo this year.
The gaffer believes history is on her team's side as the Mighty Warriors have qualified for the showpiece every time they have participated in the qualifiers.
There is a belief in this team that they have the pedigree to progress at the expense of eight-time winners Nigeria.
However, Mugadza wants to first complete the assignment against Botswana before she can set her sights on the Super Falcons.
The Mighty Warriors have a right to be bullish after winning the away tie in Gaborone 1-0.The senior women's soccer team did not only train at Rufaro yesterday but added a swimming session at Les Brown to their preparations and the players are bubbling with confidence.
Botswana are scheduled to arrive this afternoon. The Zebras' captain, Bonang "Bebeto" Otlhagile, plays for Bulawayo giants Inline Academy.
The Mighty Warriors expect a full house to back their cause on Sunday with the organisers of the match announcing yesterday that fans will watch the game free of charge.
