Under-20s camp

THE Young Mighty Warriors will be camping in Hwange for two weeks, starting this weekend, as they prepare for the tough Fifa World Cup second round, first leg match against Nigeria at the end of this month. The team is expected to go into camp tomorrow evening after breaking camp for a few days following their victory over Mozambique last weekend, which saw them winning 7-0 on aggregate. The technical team is hoping to use the humid conditions in Matabeleland North to condition the players better as they prepare for their West African giants who have represented Africa at every junior World Cup tournament. Young Mighty Warriors technical advisor Maxwell Takaendesa Jongwe said they were unfazed by the prospects of meeting the West African giants. “We have a capable team. We are not underestimating the task at hand but we will stand against Nigeria. I don’t think they will trample on us and it is an inspiration because to be the best you have to beat the best,” said Jongwe. Meanwhile, the Nigerian team went into camp this week with a squad of 29 players as they begin their preparations for the tie.
