Vice President Joice Mujuru has arrived in India for the 8th India-Africa Summit. She was received by Zimbabwe’s ambassador to India, Cde Jonathan Wutawunashe.
Ambassador Wutawunashe said the summit offers Zimbabweans the opportunity to exchange notes with their Indian counterparts and for the country to showcase itself to the Asian market.
He said a Zimbabwe Day will be organised to enable the country to focus on cultural and business issues.
The visit is VP Mujuru’s initiative to attract investment from Bric countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China).
Last year, Vice President Mujuru’s office organised a similar mission to Brazil, with hopes to take the mission to the rest of the Bric countries this year.
Cde Mujuru is accompanied by Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Walter Mzembi, Deputy Minister of Economic Planning and Investment Promotion Samuel Undenge as well as officials from the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority and other government officials.
